Volcano

Miss Chesnut just finished her theme on volcanoes.  The children learned so much.  They had a great time constructing the volcano.  They made the form out of chicken wire.  Then, they paper-mached it.  The volcano errupted on Friday.  She used baking soda, vinegar, water, and food coloring to make the volcano errupt!  They children really enjoyed watching it explode!

The volcano is named Mount Pinatubo.

Pilot

On Monday, November 15, we had a special visitor.  Mr. Matt Gowan, Reese's dad, came to talk to us about airplanes.  Mr. Gowan is a pilot for Delta.  He talked to the children about his job, where he flies, and how he became a pilot.  Thank you Mr. Matt for sharing!

Trike Ride Celebration

AEEC PTA hosted a Trike Ride Celebration on Friday, November 5.  They announced the winners of the girl's and boy's bikes, the pod who raised the most money (YELLOW!), and the name of the AEEC Tiger Cub...Whiskers!  The PTA will be providing a ice cream party for the Yellow Pod for raising the most money.  Our school-wide goal for the Trike Ride was to raise 25,000.  Mrs. Johnson and Mrs. Folmar agreed to let PTA spray paint their hair if we reached the goal.  We met the goal, so they got their hair spray painted at the Celebration.
