We just finished learning about the jaguar. We learned lots of interesting facts about the jaguar. We researched the jaguar by using books and the Internet. We also looked at several videos. The children worked hard to construct the jaguar using materials such as chicken wire, fleece, paper mache, and construction paper. The jaguar is now displayed in our pod area, along with a Venn diagram, KWL chart, and fact web.
We had a special visitor that helped us form the body out of chicken wire.
These children signed up to help with the body.
These girls helped cut out the spots.
These children helped with the tail.
These friends helped paper mache and paint the head.
Here is our jaguar!
This is the jaguar fact web that the class completed together.
Our class compared and contrasted the jaguar and the leopard.
Our class discussed what we knew about jaguars, what we wanted to know about jaguars, and what we learned about jaguars. We then put the information in a KWL chart.
